Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club

The Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club (WCAC), is a parent-run swim organization that offers training and competition at all levels in the sports of swimming, diving, and water polo.  WCAC is a member club of the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and USA Swimming.

Dual meets begin the last weekend in October against other clubs in the same division on Saturdays. SAL championship meets occur in January. The team also encourages participation in SAL Invitational meets, usually held on Sundays.

The WCAC USA swim team is offered alongside the SAL swimming and diving team during the winter season with the goal to qualify for Junior Olympics, Silver, and 10 & Under Championships.  USA Swimming registration is highly recommended for Gold and Senior groups and optional for Blue group. The winter season runs from September to February. Beginning in March the USA swim team continues with a monthly training program  and includes USA long course meet participation through Summer Championships. For additional information on US Swimming, please refer to the USA Swimming tab on the website.

WCAC provides an active water polo program and participates in matches through USA Water Polo. Additionally, we have splash ball sessions to introduce our younger athletes to water polo in shallow water.  We encourage all water polo players to participate in SAL and practices to gain strength and endurance.

The program is committed to water safety and lifetime love of aquatics.  We offer swim lessons for young children and try to encourage participation in WCAC after that.

The club is a community-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors that meets monthly.

WCAC strives to provide the youth of our community the opportunity to reach their highest personal potential as both individuals and an athletes.  We understand that winning is much more than one's place in the finish of a race, and we are committed to helping our swimmers develop their self-esteem and pride through both individual achievement and teamwork.
