Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club

 

 

We are excited to announce our programming for the Spring 2024 water polo season.  We will offer two separate levels of programming - Travel and Spring Polo.  All practices will take place at the Wissahickon High School Natatorium, 521 Houston Road, Ambler, PA 19002.

The Travel Program -  is for our competitive athletes that aspire to play at the highest levels of the Northeast Zone and beyond, with the ultimate goal of competing in the USA Water Polo Junior Olympic Championship in California this summer.  Athletes need to participate in an evaluation with the coaching staff in order to participate with the Travel Program.

 

Travel evaluation week - 

 

HS Boys: 
Tuesday 3/5 and Thursday 3/7 - 6:15 - 8:15 pm, Saturday 3/10 - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

 

HS Girls:
Monday 3/4 and Wednesday 3/8 - 6:15 - 8:15 pm, Saturday 3/10 - 8:00 am - 10:00 am

 

14U:
Saturday 3/10 - 8:00 am - 11:00 am

 

 

Evaluation Week registration fee - $50 for High School Athletes / $25 for 14U Athletes

The travel team Spring Session will run from Wednesday, March 13th until the Junior Olympic Qualifier tournament in May.

 

Travel Program Registration Fees - $550, Travel Team athletes must also purchase assigned team gear and suit.  Travel Athletes must also register with USA Water polo (separate registration to be completed here - USA Water Polo Registration)

 

 

 

The Spring Polo Program -  is intended for our athletes that are looking to improve their game or try a new sport in a positive environment.  We offer several training options for our spring seasonal athletes.

 

 

High School Spring Polo Nights - This coed group is for all athletes who wish to train in the evenings during the spring. 

No experience is necessary to participate in this group, but athletes must be able to swim a 200 Freestyle and tread water for five minutes without stopping.  Practices will be:

 
Mondays - 6:45 pm - 8:45 pm
Tuesdays - 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm
 

Their season will run from Monday, March 18th to Mid-May.  The Spring Polo Night group will compete in the American Water Polo Main Line League and all athletes must be registered with American Water Polo (separate registration to be completed here - American Water Polo Registration)

 

Spring Polo Registration Fees - $275

 

High School Spring Polo Afternoons - This coed group is for all athletes who wish to train in the afternoons during the spring.  No experience is necessary to participate in this group, but athletes must be able to swim a 200 Freestyle and tread water for five minutes without stopping.  Practices will be:

 

Wednesdays - 4:45 pm - 6:45 pm

Thursdays -  4:45 pm - 6:45 pm

 

Their  season will run from Wednesday, March 20th to Mid-May.  The Spring Polo Afternoon group group will compete in the American Water Polo Main Line League and all athletes must be registered with American Water Polo (separate registration to be completed here - American Water Polo Registration)

 

Spring Polo Registration Fees - $275

 

Middle School Spring Polo - This group is intended for all middle school age athletes.  This group will focus on developing a strong fundamental of the game, building endurance, and understanding team tactics.  Athletes in this group will be divided by experience within each session to best individualize their training and development. Practices will be:

 

Mondays - 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm

Wednesdays - 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm

 

Their season will run from Monday, March 18th to mid-May.  The Middle School Spring Polo group will compete in the American Water Polo Main Line League and all athletes must be registered with American Water Polo (separate registration to be completed here - American Water Polo Registration)

 

Spring Polo Registration Fees - $250

 

Splashball - is the perfect introduction to water polo for all of our athletes in 5th grade and below.  Athletes must be able to swim a 50 freestyle and tread water for one minute without stopping.  The focus of this group is on putting the fun in fundamentals!  Practices will be:

 

Tuesdays - 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm

Thursdays - 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm

 

The spring Splashball  season will run from Tuesday, March 25th, to Thursday, May 2nd.
