The Lakeview Aquatic Club coaching staff makes the decisions on athlete group placement, based on the swimmer’s daily practice habits and season-long progress.  The following are guidelines that the coaches use to place athletes in the appropriate practice group.  All group assignments are subject to change throughout the swim season per coaches’ discretion and our group placement policy.

Cereal City Swimming School -  Ages 4 - 12 years old

Level One (Safety Around Water) - Teach swimmers to be Safe in and around water.  Swimmers will learn floating, kicking, basic stroke mechanics, and basic breathing echniques. Other skills such as entering and exiting the pool safely, treading water, putting on a lifejacket, safely assisting others, will be targeted daily.  Swimmer to in water instructor will be 2:1 - 3:1

Level Two (Stoke Development) - Swimmers may be placed in this group if they can safely swim 25 yards of the pool.  Most of the work in this group will be done in the deep water so safety will be front and center when selecting who is ready.  This group will break down the stroke mechanics of all four competitive strokes. Student to in water instructor ratio will be 4:1 - 5:1.

Level Three (Pre-Competitive Swimming) - We have added the level three for children who may want to explore competitive swimming in the future. This group can safely swim one length of the pool by themselves. The focus will surround, how to do competitive turns, starts, and enhance the stroke mechanics of all four competitive strokes. Level three swimmers will have the opportunity to participate in the Sunshine Toyota Sprint Series competitions if desired. If childeren become advanced enough to enter this group but do not wish to participate in competitions, that is okay too!!
