We are thrilled to announce that this was the most successful Junior Olympics / Age Group Team Challenge in Patriot History! Altogether our swimmers laid down  107 Personal Best times, and our 11 -­ 14 year olds participated in an astounding  25 Finals swims! Our 39 athletes pooled together to boost the Patriot Swim Team up to over 90,000  Virtual Club Championships points (VCC's) in USA Swimming, which landed us in 19th place in Metro and put us in 560th place out of the nearly 4000 teams in the US!  We are beaming with pride! We would like to congratulate two of our swimmers who set new team records at the NYSA Time Trials this weekend: Jonathan Nunez set a new Beacon record in the 50 Free for the 11-12 Boys with a 26.24. Kaitlyn Quezada set new Peekskill records for the 11-12 Girls in the 200 Back with 2:18.69, and in the 200 Fly with a 2:31.51. These three records also made the books as new Patriot Team Records. Forty-four Patriots participated in the Silvers Championships this past weekend. There were an impressive 127 personal best swims. We achieved two new 15-18 Team Challenge cuts and 19 new Junior Olympics cuts, including our four over-achievers who skipped ahead and cemented two Zone Qualifying times each! We had a small group of twelve dedicated athletes at the Sharks Last Chance meet this weekend, where they swam a limited number of events in which they were less than one second to a championship cut. Updated Feb 5, 2014 Participating in the IM Xtreme Games at the University of Maryland is quickly becoming a treasured tradition for our team. Held at this huge and highly impressive venue, the IMX Games is run as a Championship meet for the entire Northeast region. Last year, almost 1000 swimmers participated in these games.
