In most of the competitive groups*, swimmers will be moved into groups three times per year:

1) After short course season is completed (end of March)

2) After long course season is completed (end of August)

3) During Christmas training (end of December)

Each swimmer move is carefully planned and discussed by coaches. In addition to stated group requirements consideration will be given to:

  • Swimmer Maturity

  • Personal Training Level

  • Practice Attendance

  • Meet Attendance

  • Time Standard expectations

  • The overall ability for the swimmer to be successful in the next group.

All swimmers will be placed into groups that will facilitate the best growth and success possible within our competitive swimming program.

Final placement is solely at the discretion of the coaching staff.

There are 3 basic categories for all our training groups. There is an overall plan for each group to grow the swimmers within the groups, prepare for the next group and advance their swimming skills while achieving their goals.

Developmental Competitive Groups
This is the first introduction to competitive swimming and a start for many coming from summer league or those that are still learning all the “ins and outs” of competitive swimming. Learning all the legal aspects, training concepts and becoming proficient trainers. These groups will focus on stroke technique, teamwork, basic training etiquette and learning what it takes to train and compete in the sport of swimming. Meets are offered every 3-6 weeks and participation is encouraged through mini-meets, local home CSC meets and begin traveling to out-of-town meets.

Developmental Competitive Groups: LTS Black, LTS Gold, AG White, AG Black and AG Gold

Premier Competitive Age Groups
For
our top age group swimmers who have achieved a minimum of a District cut. Further emphasis is placed on stroke technique, interval training and pacing and aerobic development. The swimmers will develop all four of their strokes and learn how to swim sets. Goals for this group include consistent practice attendance, meet attendance and achieving various time standards.

Premier Competitive Age Groups: TS Black and TS Gold

Competitive Senior Groups
There are three levels in our senior program for swimmers ages 13 and up. There will be 6-10 practices a week with a continued emphasis on energy system development, dryland/strength training workouts and allowing the swimmers the best opportunity to achieve the highest level of swimming they wish to work for. Swimmers in this group have proven their commitment and ability to train at the senior level. While not all seniors strive to attend National meets, all Senior swimmers work toward individual goals.

Senior Competitive Age Groups: SR White, SR Black, SR Gold
