CSC Fundraising Policy

Fundraising is an integral aspect of ensuring the longevity of the club and keeping fees affordable.

Swim meets and monthly dues provide the club some of the money necessary to cover expenses but are not enough to sustain the club. Fundraising requires 100% participation by all families to promote ownership and accountability throughout the club to achieve this goal.

The expectation to meet this goal is $200 for each family per CSC's fiscal year (Sept 1-Aug 31).  Any family feeling they will have difficulty meeting the expectation can contact the Board of Directors at [email protected]

Meeting your CSC fundraising expectation has never been easier.  We offer several different options to allow everyone flexibility in reaching the $200 amount.

OPTION 1: Buy-out online option available through TeamUnify

Set up an automatic billing option, the $200 total will be prorated and added to your monthly statement through TeamUnify. This will allow you to opt-out of taking part in any additional fundraising activity and be billed a portion of the fundraising amount monthly. Please email [email protected] to request this option.

OPTION 2: Raise funds through different fundraising opportunities throughout the year

Corporate Sponsorships gives your family the option of raising funds by asking businesses and outside sponsors for donations, your $200 fundraising expectation comes from outside sources. Our families are very successful at obtaining business sponsors and it’s a great way for businesses to get their name paired with a large built-in community.

Sponsor an event at one of our home swim meets. Businesses, families, grandparents or friends can sponsor an event in honor of your child for $25 per event.  The sponsors name and the swimmers name will be announced during the event! This option is a win-win as the family can meet their fundraising expectations and make their child feel like a star at the same time. This option is available at 3 of our hosted meets per year (Fall, Winter and Summer quarter)– it’s a fun way to recognize your swimmer while meeting your family fundraising expectation.

Various fun activities are offered throughout the year that may provide additional opportunities for fundraising.  Some past activities have included a swim-a-thon, Wacky Races, and selling Shakespeare’s frozen pizzas.  We are always looking for new and fun fundraising ideas please email [email protected] with suggestions you would like to run.

OPTION 3: SCRIP CARDS

Buy gift cards at places you already shop and get a percentage back that applies to your fundraising! SCRIP is a great way to get your fundraising done while spending money you would already use. With a new app to make it extra easy, SCRIP is a great choice. To find out how to sign up for SCRIP - contact our SCRIP coordinator, Gisela Coy [email protected]

OPTION 4: VOLUNTEER MORE

You can volunteer for extra shifts at our home meets! A credit will be given to a family’s fund-raising account for each shift worked above the requirement per meet.  The incentive will be $10 per shift worked (over required) not to exceed $200 annually.

OPTION 5: COMBINE ANY OF THE ABOVE METHODS

You can do a combination of the previous four!  For example, you can sponsor an event in the fall, donate online in the Winter, volunteer extra shifts in the summer and use the SCRIP program all year long - lots of options!

If you have not met your fundraising obligation by the end of the fiscal year or if you leave the swim club prior to the year's end, the prorated portion of your fundraising obligation will be billed to your card on file with the club.

We track donations by calendar year (for your tax purposes) and will gladly offer a receipt for any donation upon request. Columbia Swim Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit and donations are tax-deductible.
