The Spring and Summer long course practice schedule has been updated on our website. This will cover our schedule from April 1st– the end of August and the beginning of our Fall 2012-2013 season. In addition to McKenzie Campbell's recent acheivement, I realized I failed to spotlight Randy Chen, who also took home a state title! He won the gold medal at the Men's Swimming and Diving 3A State Champs in the 50 yard freestyle. He also won a bronze medal and placed fourth in the state for the 100 yd freestyle. We're hosting an exciting event in Greensboro, and the Y wants you to be a part of it! The YMCA 2012 Short Course Swimming Championships is coming to the Greensboro Aquatics Center in April. Congratulations to GCY's own McKenzie Campbell for taking home this weekends High Points Award at the NC 14&Under Championships. McKenzie won 3 separate events: the 50 breast, 100 breast, and the 200 IM, and placed high in everything to take home the meet's top award. WBP Swim Team Update, The We Build People Campaign is underway and we need your help to make our team goal of $5000 by the March 31st deadline. My thanks to those that have already given. The campaign is based on the premise that "every child deserves experiences such as camping, swim lessons, leadership and mentoring, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances."
