Parents and swimmers should always be aware that they are representing the GCY Makos and the YMCA. To have a successful program there must be an understanding and collaboration amongst all parents, swimmers, and coaches. Regular and open communication is essential to steering clear of any misunderstanding or problems.

Our parents have overwhelmingly indicated that they do not want to be used as a sounding board for complaints or criticism that others may have with the team or coaches.  This is inappropriate behavior that makes it difficult for GCY to retain its great reputation and coaches.  This does not solve the issues and by doing this a larger issue is created for the coach and team to deal with first.

Please approach all swim related, practice related, meet and schedule related issues directly with your child’s coach.  If there is anything you observe that is unprofessional or inappropriate, or anything you are uncomfortable with, we would prefer you approach the Head Coach or Swim Team Administrator directly as soon as possible.

Our coaching staff and I will do our best to address and answer them to the best of our ability.
