Introducing Vi Nguyen, the highly dedicated Swim Coach renowned for inspiring excellence and cultivating lifelong skills.
 
Embarking on a journey that began with a passion for aquatic prowess, Vi Nguyen has evolved into a seasoned swim coach, committed to nurturing talent, building strong foundations, and fostering a love for swimming.
A litle bit About Vi Nguyen, with a vision to enrich the lives of swimmers, Vi's quest for knowledge led to extensive experience in aquatic programs and facilities. This journey was marked by achievements such as being a Certified American Red Cross & Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Instructor, previously holding the role of an Aquatic Facility Operator, and attaining ASCA Level 2 and Level 3 accolades.
His Excellence in coaching canvas spans diverse settings, from the O2 Performance Aquatics to the Grand Prairie High School pool. At each juncture, Vi has left an indelible mark, meticulously crafting seasonal plans for athletes and developing stroke techniques and skills. Vi's influence extends beyond the water's edge, skillfully handling administration, overseeing practice locations, and motivating teams to exceed their potential.
Vi's dedication to coaching excellence is further evident through roles like Head Swim Coach at the City of Coppell's Aquatics & Recreation Center. Here, Vi honed the skills of athletes in competitive swimming techniques, orchestrated successful swim meets, and created an environment where swimmers thrived, guiding young athletes to Victory. Vi's impact wasn't confined to the pool lanes alone. As an Aquatic Coordinator for the Town of Trophy Club, Vi's leadership skills shone through in organizing facility operations, coordinating programs, and overseeing maintenance. This dedication translated into unforgettable experiences for pool-goers, as Vi managed nightly deposits, budgets, and orchestrated captivating events creating aquatic legacies. A proud member of esteemed organizations like North Texas Swimming Board of Directors, North Texas Masters Swimming Board of Directors, and American Swim Coaches Association, Vi's influence reaches beyond coaching, enriching the aquatic community as a whole. 
 
Vi's journey as a swim coach is a testament to a relentless pursuit of excellence, unwavering commitment to swimmers' growth, and a passion for creating aquatic legacies. As a coach, leader, and inspiration, Vi Nguyen continues to make waves and inspire generations to embrace the art of swimming nationally and internationally.
Lynn Barnhart Assistant Coach

Lynn Barnhart – Assistant Coach

Lynn grew up in Los Angeles and has been swimming competitively since she was 12 years old.  She earned a full ride swimming scholarship to Iowa State University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree.  During her college career she was Big 8 Champion in 200 fly and 400 IM and several relays and qualified for the NCAA national championships.

After college, Lynn retired from swimming to focus on family and career but found she just couldn’t stay away from the pool and returned to masters swimming when her daughter also wanted to try the swim team. Lynn has been a member of the O2 Performance Master’s Program for 4 years.  In the past 2 years, Lynn has been Short Course National Champion 10 times in the 100 and 200 butterfly, 200 and 400 IM, plus the 500 and 1000 free. She currently holds 7 South Central Region Short Course Records in all the events listed plus the 200 free.

Lynn lives in Grapevine, is married and has 2 grown children living in the DFW area. Besides swimming Lynn likes traveling, yoga, cycling, hiking and a good book.

Meet Brittany M. Kartchner: O2 Assistant Coach and Dedicated Aquatic Professional with Extensive Leadership and Coaching Experience
 
Brittany M. Kartchner is our new assistant coach with extensive aquatics background and a impressive professional carrer. Beyond her instructional roles, Brittany has left a lasting impact in the competitive swimming arena. As the Assistant Head Coach of Herndon Aquatic Club Commanders and a Swim Coach for Mason Makos Swimming and Occoquan Swimming, she nurtured talent and helped athletes achieve their highest potential. Her leadership also extended to the realm of federal government, where she demonstrated her versatility as a Compliance Specialist for AC FIRST, LLC in Afghanistan and as a Correspondence Analyst for the Office of the Secretary of Defense Washington Headquarters Services Executive Services Directorate.
Brittany is a highly skilled Aquatic Safety and Risk Management specialist with a proven track record of excellence in coordinating and directing aquatic centers and operations. With a wealth of experience spanning diverse roles in the aquatics industry, Brittany brings a unique blend of expertise in lifeguarding, instruction, coaching, and compliance.
 
Currently serving as the Aquatic Center Coordinator within the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Irving, Texas, Brittany has been instrumental in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of aquatic facilities since 2021. Prior to her current position, she held the esteemed role of Aquatic Operations Director at Reston Community Center in Reston, VA, from November 2019 to September 2021. Her dedication to safety was evident in her tenure as a Head Lifeguard at various locations, including the Herndon Community Center in Town of Herndon, VA, from September 2017 to November 2019.
Brittany's commitment to aquatic education and instruction is equally impressive. As a Lifeguard Instructor at Reston Community Center and George Mason University, she contributed to the development of lifeguarding skills, shaping the capabilities of future lifeguards and instructors. Her extensive reach also extended to Fairfax County Government Park Authority and other esteemed institutions.
Certified in a multitude of critical areas, Brittany's credentials exemplify her dedication to aquatic safety and excellence. Holding certifications such as NRPA Certified Park and Recreation Professional, ARC Water Safety Instructor, and USFWA Master's Level Water Fitness Instructor, she is well-equipped to ensure safe and enjoyable aquatic experiences.
Brittany's academic journey includes a B.A. in International Political Economy and Diplomacy from the University of Bridgeport, CT, and educational pursuits at Northern Virginia Community College. Her commitment to continuous learning and holistic development is a testament to her passion for excellence.
 
With a heart dedicated to the aquatics community and an impressive history of achievements, Brittany stands as a paragon of professionalism, expertise, coaching and leadership in aquatic safety and risk management.
