Although the OSSC has temporarily suspended operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we still want to acknowledge our swimmers who have made their college commitments this season. If a swimmer was still a member of our team in 2020 before the pandemic began, then we will do our best to list him or her on our College Commitment page, while also crediting their current teams if they made their commitments after transferring teams. Due to the COVID-19 situation in our community and as Ohio State continues to work through the plan for fall semester we have made the difficult decision to suspend regular Ohio State Swim Club operations for the 2020-2021 season and to encourage you to contact other swim clubs about joining their teams. Our coaches had a great time chatting with Dave Rollins about several different swimming topics. Dave discussed what he wants to see from recruits in addition to times; how he and his staff continue to communicate and provide resources for their swimmers; and how he sees collegiate athletics changing in the future. We want to congratulate Ashlyn Morr and Chase Swearingen, who were both named to USA Swimming’s 2020 Central Zone Select Camp at the University of Cincinnati. We are proud to note that Ashlyn and Chase are two of the five total Ohio Swimming representatives at this camp! We recently learned from USA Swimming that this camp will be rescheduled for 2021 at the University of Cincinnati, and that they’re planning to run two separate sessions for the 2020 and 2021 campers. Last week Coach Anthony held a Zoom meeting for his Senior swimmers with Kacie Vavrek, a registered Sports Dietician with The Ohio State University.
