September 22nd - end of June 2026 Training Schedule

 

 

 

Description 

  • Girls and Boys 13 years old and over are eligible to be invited into this squad. 
  • This group is primarily focused on competing at the Division 2 or higher.

 

Criteria and Expectations

  • Be a Division 1 and Division 2 Qualifier.
  • The expected attendance of the program is +90%.
  • Swimmers should be on deck 15 minutes prior to practice start time for team activation.
  • Swimmers should be committed to all events, including competitions, camps, and dryland training.
  • Group placement is at the full discretion of the Head Coach or Assistant Coach.

 

Long-Term Athlete Development - Train to Train

Training is structured around the Train-to-Train objectives of Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD). Commitment, work ethic, and high attendance are the key factors for these swimmers to excel and move up the ladder. Swimmers in this group will Train to Train for further advancement. This new group is aimed at providing a competitive group that can move swimmers back into the competetive stream with continued training. Inclusion in this group is based on attitude toward training, commitment to attending meets and the potential to progress in the club’s swim groups.

Moh is a passionate swim coach who has been with MSSAC since March of 2024, where he was an assistant coach for the Regional Development group. As a swim instructor of 7 years, he worked with the City of Mississauga as well as a private instructor / coach teaching new swimmers and competitive swimmers alike through pre-competitive programs and in-water instruction. He is also still an avid swimmer and continues to train and compete with Mississauga Masters. He believes that reinforcing good technique as well keeping practices fun are the most important recipes for keeping swimmers motivated and excited to swim.
