Coach Aris Bousoulegkas Head Coach / Director of Swimming


Aris Bousoulegkas has been a Head Coach and Director in major private clubs in his hometown Thessaloniki, Greece. With over 20 years of experience in creating and coordinating plans for the development of elite athletes, Aris is a true asset to MSSAC.  His leadership abilities, connection with his athletes, skills, and passion for coaching have awarded him with many victories at the National Championships with his biggest accomplishment, his athlete Diogenis Tsitouridis placing 16th  worldwide in the 1500m (personal record: 15.20.92) according to 2004 Fina World Ranking from January to May 26, 2005. Aris received a degree in Physical and Sports Education with a specialization in swimming from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Coach Andrea Pittis HPAG Coach

Andrea has been coaching with the Mississauga Aquatic Club since 2003.  Andrea has over 25 years of swimming experience as swimmer and coach.  As a swimmer for 15 years Andrea has memories of competing for his home county of Italy and the pride that goes along with that.  He brings the passion of his own memories to his coaching.   Andrea is now dedicated to coaching and education.  He obtained an Honours degree in Physical Education in Florence, Italy, and an Honours degree in Kinesiology at York University in Toronto.  As an age group coach and Head Coach, he has developed national swimmers in Italy and Canada. Andrea believes that young children are always looking for new learning experiences, new challenges and new goals to achieve.  Swimming provides them with the opportunity to learn new skills and build necessary confidence to face and overcome any challenge, and enjoy success.  He believes that swimming provides opportunities to make new friends, develop healthy habits, become independent, earn a good education, and travel.

Coach Sandra Rosinski Junior Coach

Sandra has been with MSSAC for over 14 years now, first as a competitive swimmer and now as a Coach. She fell in love with swimming as a swimmer and this love continues to grow as she enters her 5th year of coaching. She is strives to help swimmers reach their best of their abilities.

Swimming is an incredible way to challenge and motivate young athletes to push themselves to new levels and reach their goals. Sandra believes that swimming provides benefits outside the pool too, helping swimmers create better habbits, learn how to manage time effectively and most importantly connect with other swimmers who have the same passion as them.

 

Coach Stefanie Kiru Age Group West

Stefanie is a certified swim coach and has been coaching for over 12 years. She began as a synchronized swimmer before transitioning into the world of competitive swimmer. As a young athlete, Stefanie aspired to support the Wave swimmers and assist with the transition into competitive swimming and has been doing so ever since. She is still an active swimmer; swimming with the Mississauga Master’s program. When not at the pool, Stefanie works as an Early Childhood Education Resource Consultant. Stefanie is a firm believer in helping young athletes and children to achieve their dreams and understand anything is possible. She is a great asset to our Age Group West squad!

Amanda has been coaching with MSSAC (on and off) since 2011. She began as a Coach for the Wave program back in 2011 and then moved on to coach in the competitive program in 2019. Amanda has 13 years of experience in the aquatic industry, including being the Founder of a private swim school focusing on survival skills and stroke technique. She is the creator of the ESR™ program and takes pride in knowing that the self-rescue skills she teaches infants and children in the water help prevent drownings and aquatic emergencies. She also takes pride in knowing that through her aquatic program, children are able to develop the detailed technique required to perform aquatic strokes. Amanda graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor's Degree of Honours in Kinesiology and successfully owns and operates two businesses.

Coach Drayton Coolen Regional Development

Drayton has been coaching for over 20 years in a variety of sports.  He has coached adults, children and teens in the sport of Canoe/Kayak, Dragonboat and now, swimming.  He has been with MSSAC for 3 seasons.  Drayton has his Competition Development coaching qualifications in the sport of Canoe/Kayak and is fully certified as a level 1 coach in swimming.  He has sent athletes to multiple National Championships, the Jr. World Championships, and The Canada Games, and has attended 2 Canada Games as a coach.  Drayton also has a degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University and Bachelor of Education from UofT.  He currently works with the Peel Board of Education when he is not at the pool.  Drayton continues to strive to help every athlete reach their potential.

Mia swam competitively with MSSAC for 5yrs, finishing with the Junior National squad. Mia excelled in the 100m and 200m butterfly.  This is her second year coaching with MSSAC.  Mia’s a skilled communicator whose focus is on strengths in techniques and training to further the development of her swimmers. She’s looking forward to passing on her recent experience and skills to all swimmers.
