Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What types of meets does Blue Crush offer?
We have three categories of swim meets:
- Team Meets - All squads participate (including Learners when ready)
- Advanced Meets - Optional for most squads, required for Planners #2, Achievers #2, and Performance
- Championship Meets - Require qualifying times to participate
How do I know which meets my swimmer should attend?
Your swimmer's squad level determines meet requirements:
- Learners #1 & #2: Team meets when ready
- Dreamers #1 & #2: Monthly meets encouraged
- Planners #1: Meets expected
- Planners #2, Achievers #2, Performance: Advanced and Championship meets required
When do I need to register?
Registration deadlines are listed on each individual event page. Meets fill up quickly, so make sure to declare or decline ASAP to secure your spot!
Do I need to select which events my swimmer will compete in?
No! The coaches will select the appropriate events for your swimmer. You just need to register for the meet itself.
What if we can't attend all days of a multi-day meet?
Please leave a note during registration if you can't attend every day of the meet. For example:
- "Can only attend Saturday"
- "Cannot attend Friday"
- "Available Saturday and Sunday only"
This helps coaches plan accordingly!
How much do meets cost and when do I pay?
Meet fees vary by event and are clearly listed during registration. Fees will be added to your account and charged in the next billing cycle through Team Unify.
Are there team hotel options?
Some meets may have team hotel links available on the event page for convenient group accommodations.
What information do I need to register?
- Any scheduling conflicts or availability notes
- Emergency contact information
- Special accommodations needed
Can I register for multiple meets at once?
Yes! You can register for several upcoming meets during one session to save time.
What if my swimmer doesn't have qualifying times yet?
No worries! Team meets and most Advanced meets welcome swimmers of all levels. Championship meets require specific qualifying times.
What if I need to withdraw from a meet?
Contact Coach Gary as soon as possible at [email protected] or 971-275-5394. Withdrawal policies vary by meet.
