Downingtown West PIAA State Championship Meet Recap

Congratulations to our Downingtown West swimmers for some amazing accomplishments at the PIAA State Championship meet at Bucknell University!  They include the following:

• The girls 200 medley relay (sophomore Morgan Harlan, freshman Keira Carmella, sophomore Ellie McNamara, and senior Leah Lacovara) coming in 23rd place;
• Sophomore Ellie McNamara coming in 11th place for the 200 freestyle with a 1.43 time drop;
• Freshman Keira Carmella coming in 16th place for the 200 IM and medaling; 
• Sophomore Ellie McNamara coming in 5th place for the 500 freestyle with a 6.91 time drop (and setting a new team record);
• Sophomore Morgan Harlan coming in 14th place overall and medaling; and
• The girls 400 freestyle relay (sophomore Ellie McNamara, sophomore Morgan Harlan, freshman Keira Carmella, and senior Leah Lacovara) coming in 7th overall with a .46 time drop and making it to the podium.
