As always, the DWest v. DEast meet was a packed house! The girls won and the boys lost. We saw many great performances, as well as a lot of camaraderie between the teams. It was nice to see the Whippets back in action! Our strong girls team won against Henderson HS last night. Our boys team lost, but they put up quite a fight. In addition, we held our Teacher Impact event last night in which our seniors recognized a teacher who has had a positive impact on their life. It was great listening to why these teachers mean so much to our athletes (including Coach Shane and his wife, Amanda), and there were many smiles shared by all. DWest had an uber-strong showing at the taper meet last night! Many of our athletes qualified to swim at the District 1 Championship meet in late February. We are certain there are more qualifying times to come as it is still early in the season. For those who are new to the team, at the conclusion of the regular season, the top 40 swimmers in each individual event and the top 24 relays compete at the PIAA District 1 Championship meet. It was great to see our athletes back in action last night during the meet against Kennett High School…and it was a win for both the girls team (123-60) and the boys team (94-82)!
