DWest v. Coatesville Meet Recap

It was a win for both the girls (98 – 80) and the boys (103 – 73) against Coatesville HS!  It was a great night for many of our Whippets!

Best Times

New District Qualifying Times

DWest had some District-worthy swims last night!  Congratulations to the following:

• Senior Morgan Harlan – 100 butterfly consideration time
• Senior Shane Martin – 100 butterfly consideration time
• Girls 200 Freestyle Relay (Ellie McNamara, Lily Kirk, Eden Russell, Kiera Carmella) – 200 freestyle relay consideration time

Additional Point-Scoring Swims

Freshmen

Chris Toth had a fantastic night scoring 1st in the 100 freestyle and 2nd in the 200 IM!   Eden Russell also placed 1st in the 50 freestyle, as did Lily Kirk in the 100 backstroke.  In addition to his 3rd place finish in the 200 freestyle, Collin Byrne had a 3rd place finish in the 100 butterfly.   Tara Bice also placed 3rd in the 100 breaststroke, as did Kelly Dunn in the 500 freestyle.  Brewer Cianciulli placed 4th in the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.  Finally, Marcus Sevi scored points for the team with his 5th place finish in the 200 freestyle.

Sophomores              

As evidenced by the list of best times above, the sophomores had an outstanding night!  Added to that list are:

• Lexi Furlong placed 1st in the 100 breaststroke!  
• Lillian Roberts placed 3rd in the 200 freestyle.  
• Ads Fieo placed 4th in the 200 IM.
• Kunj Tailor placed 4th 200 IM.
• Ellie Daniels placed 4th in the 50 freestyle.  
• Aadhav Sunjay Kumar placed 5th in the 100 backstroke.
• Brianna Mailliard placed 5th in the 100 breaststroke.

Juniors

Aubrey Lydon is having a great season, placing 1st in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 100 backstroke!  Keira Carmella also nabbed 1st place in the 100 freestyle.  Austin Verlinghieri put the boys in a great position with his 2nd place finish in the 100 backstroke.  Charlotte Campbell also placed 2nd in the 500 freestyle, in addition to placing 3rd in the 100 backstroke.  Riley Surak tried her hand at the 200 IM and placed 2nd, in addition to her 5th place finish in the 100 butterfly.  Finally, Addie Campbell finished 3rd in a fast 100 butterfly heat!

Seniors

The Seniors saw 1st place finishes from Shane Martin (200 IM and 100 butterfly) and Ellie McNamara (500 freestyle).  Morgan Harlan (200 freestyle and 100 butterfly) and Cole Cichewicz (100 breaststroke) placed 2nd.  In the 50 freestyle, both Allie Leamy and Jake Lennon placed 3rd.  Finally, Sean Borkowski (500 freestyle) and Ryan Miller (100 backstroke) placed 4th for DWest.     

Relays  

Girls 200 Medley Relays – placed 2nd (Aubrey Lydon, Brynn Laverty, Addie Campbell, Charlotte Campbell) and 3rd (Kaja Greatorex, Lexi Furlong, Elle Whitton, CC Bailey).

Boys 200 Medley Relays – placed 2nd (Austin Verlinghieri, Shane Martin, Sean Borkowski, Cole Cichewicz) and 3rd (Austin Bailey, Jake Lennon, Brewer Cianciulli, Henry Lennon)

Girls 200 Freestyle Relays – placed 1st (Ellie McNamara, Lily Kirk, Eden Russell, Keira Carmella) and 3rd (Lexi Furlong, CC Bailey, Kelly Dunn, Allie Leamy)

Boys 200 Freestyle Relays – placed 2nd (Cole Cichewicz, Sean Borkowski, Jake Lennon, Chris Toth) and 3rd (Shane Martin, Austin Bailey, Collin Byrne, Ryan Miller)

Girls 400 Freestyle Relays – placed 1st (Lillian Roberts, Charlotte Campbell, Addie Campbell, Riley Surak) and 2nd (Brynn Laverty, Elle Oldman, Ellie Daniels, Tara Bice)

Boys 400 Freestyle Relays – placed 1st (Austin Verlinghieri, Brewer Cianciulli, Collin Byrne, and Jake Lennon) and 2nd (Henry Lennon, Austin Bailey, Cole Cichewicz, Ryan Miller)  

Diving

Coatesville was a fantastic meet.  Our divers dove really well and showed great sportsmanship cheering on the Coatesville divers.  Our divers earned points towards the overall score that helped DWest win for both the girls and boys teams.  Only a few meets left but we’ve had a great season so far!
