DWest Shines at the WCASD Taper Meet

DWest had an uber-strong showing at the taper meet last night!  Many of our athletes qualified to swim at the District 1 Championship meet in late February.  We are certain there are more qualifying times to come as it is still early in the season.   

For those who are new to the team, at the conclusion of the regular season, the top 40 swimmers in each individual event and the top 24 relays compete at the PIAA District 1 Championship meet.  Each swimmer can compete in a maximum of 2 individual events and 2 relays.  The automatic qualifying times mean these swimmers/relays are guaranteed to swim at the District 1 Championship meet.  Thereafter, the top 40/24 spots are filled with the next fastest "consideration times" until the 40/24 maximum number is reached.  Therefore, it is best to have a consideration time that is close to the automatic time to increase your chances of swimming at the meet.  The qualifying times can be found under the "Qualifying Times" drop-down on the home page of our website.
