The boys are on a roll and had their third straight win. The breakout performance of the meet goes to freshman Austin Bailey! He had an over 20 second drop in the 500 freestyle and took 1st place. He also placed 2nd in the 100 backstroke. Congratulations to Austin!
His freshman teammates also did extremely well at this meet, which we love to see for the future of this team. Kunj Tailor fought his way to a 2nd place finish in the 200 IM and a 3rd place finish on the 100 back (with an impressive 2+ second drop). Brody Loux placed 2nd in the 100 freestyle and 4th in the 50 freestyle. Finally, Gavin Riley finished 5th in the 200 freestyle and essentially matching his best time!
Our upperclassmen also contributed many points to the victory. Our medley relay (Shane Martin, Henry Dennin, Sean Borkowski, and Cole Cichewicz) finished 1st and had their fastest time yet! Junior Sean Borkowski brought it again with 1st place finishes in the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. Junior Alexander Sheldon also finished strong with a 3rd place finish in the 100 breaststroke and a 4th place finish in the 200 freestyle. Finally, the 200 freestyle relay (Henry Dennin, Cole Cichewicz, Jake Lennon, and Sean Borkowski) finished 2nd and the 400 freestyle relay (Jake Lennon, Ryan Miller, Austin Bailey, and Shane Martin) finished 1st.
Diving
Tuesday’s meet was a senior showdown! Reilly Durkin, Nolan Dobry, and Jamie Compher had a great time diving together in one of their last home meets together. Since it was just the three of them, Reilly Durkin was able to earn points for the team by securing 1st place. Nolan Dobry (1st place) and Jamie Compher (2nd place) also earned points for the team which allowed us to be victorious over Kennett Square. Way to go, seniors! Thank you to senior Will Vaughen and sophomore Kaylie Thompson for being there to cheer their teammates on!
See everyone at the meet against West Chester East tomorrow at 3:45 pm! Go Whippets!!!
