Diving
Tonight’s last dual meet against Avon Grove was some of the best diving DWest has done all season! Every single diver looked so strong; we also had a guest appearance from our long lost diver senior Henry Dennin. Senior Reilly Durkin (3rd place), sophomore Kaylie Thompson (2nd place), freshman Tessa Dobry (1st place), and junior Mia Enterline all performed beautifully against the lone Avon Grove diver. Sophomore Kaylie Thompson had her best meet of the season, every single dive was stunning! Freshman Tessa Dobry pared again and is headed to Districts next week. Senior Reilly Durkin and junior Mia Enterline not only dove well, but they also didn’t hesitate to throw a dive that gave them some trouble last week. The strength and perseverance is inspiring! Our boys were able to sweep the meet today with Senior Nolan Dobry in 1st place, senior Jamie Compher in 2nd place, and senior Henry Dennin in 3rd place. Seniors Jamie Compher and Henry Dennin threw some fantastic dives: Jamie Compher’s front double was perfect timing and Henry Dennin’s dives were fun to see since he hasn’t dive since his freshman year. Senior Nolan Dobry’s height is unmatched; it will serve him well as he heads to Districts next week! Great job West, it’s been an honor to coach you this season (Coach Kelsey)💜
Looking forward to seeing what these athletes will do at the JV Invitational meet tonight and at the Scott Elliott Chest-Mont Invitational meet on Saturday! For everyone going to these meets, make sure you wear your DWest gear to cheer on our athletes. Best of luck to everyone. Go DWest!!!
