Taper Meet #1 Recap

The Whippets kicked off the 2022-2023 season by having some athletes attend a taper meet last night.  For the girls, junior Leah Lacovara picked up two District consideration times with speedy swims in the 50 free and the 100 free.  Senior Sydney Martin also picked up a District consideration time with a solid swim in the 100 back, an event she competed in last year at Districts. 

For the boys, freshman Shane Martin – Sydney’s younger brother – made his high school debut by garnering the 200 IM District consideration time and showing strong skills in all four strokes.  

Many of our other athletes – both girls and boys – came super close to the District consideration times so we know more will be coming throughout the season.
