What a meet last night against West Chester East!  It was the boys’ night to shine and congratulations to them!

Freshman Shane Martin came out with guns blazing and swam a District consideration time in the 200 IM and obtained a new District consideration time in the 100 backstroke, taking first place in both events.  Junior Logan Seiss also delivered speedy performances with first place finishes in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, showcasing his diversity as a swimmer.  Senior Zach Mourar – our sprint freestyler – put up first place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.  Equally noteworthy, sophomore Henry Dennin had a nail-biting finish to take first place in the 100 breaststroke, and took second place in the 500 freestyle.  Other strong performances for our boys included the following:

As for the divers, West had a strong showing against West Chester East last night.  Our ladies threw some beautiful dives and even scored some 7s and 8s!  Junior Grace McNamara had one of her best meets of the season and was able to place second.  Sophomore Reilly Durkin also had one of her best meets of the season and placed third.  Freshman Mia Enterline continues to improve as the season goes on and her highest dive of the night is a new dive she just added to her list this week!  For the boys, sophomore Nolan Dobry finally reached the elusive district qualifying score and placed first with a 209.2!  Sophomore Jamie Compher had one of his best meets of the season and was able to successfully throw all of his dives.  Junior Micah Russell threw one of the best doubles he has done all season as he continues to perfect his list.  Can’t wait to see how we do against Downingtown East next week!

Our next meet is Wednesday, February 1st against Bishop Shanahan!  Although it is an away meet, it is relatively close so we hope to see you all there.  Go Whippets!!!
