The 2011 Agua Caliente Swim Meet finished this past weekend as a huge success! Wednesday, November 9 – With an Hawaiian lei around his neck, Piranhas Senior swimmer, Adam Shaw signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Hawaii next fall. Adam was among many athletes at Palm Desert High School who attained scholarship in their sports. Adam was ranked as a three-star swimmer by Swimming World Magazine. Costume Contest Winners!!! The first annual Piranha costume contest has announced its winners! We had a good turnout of costumes on Monday and Tuesday night that made it very difficult for the judges to decide who will win the prizes. Monday, October 31st, the Piranha Swim Team will be having a costume contest on the pool deck before practice. Each group can wear their costume to practice to get judged by the coaches. The results from those scores will be tabulated and the coaches will determine who had the best costume that night. Piranha Swim Team has 6 team members break into the top 16 fastest swims in Southern California. Six Piranha team members had times from 2010-2011 short course and long course seasons that were fast enough to be recognized in the top 16 rankings by the Southern California Swimming Committee. These rankings are put out each year and include all the teams in the Southern California Local Swimming Committee. The Piranha Swim Team will have its yearly banquet this Friday at 5:00pm in the banquet room of the Golden Sun Estates development. You can find all the information about the banquet on the website under events. The banquet will be in lieu of practices that afternoon, there will not be any Friday afternoon practices.
