The Piranha Swim Team had some exciting events happening this past weekend on the last days of our Fall/Winter season! Coach Adam Schmitt said "it shows the depth and tradition of the Piranha program to have success in so many meets!" January 20, 2012 - The Piranha swimmers are starting the new year with a qualifying meet held in Fontana this weekend. The meet is held for all Red and above swimmers to gain better times in hopes of attaining some Junior Olympic qualifying times. Others are heading to the meet to rev up their engines a bit before the big championship meets in February. Huntington Beach - The sun came out and so did the Piranhas in a great finale of a long meet. The final day of the 5-day Sectional swim meet came to an end yesterday with Piranha swimmers attaining 6 lifetime best times in their events. Huntington Beach - the Piranhas had another great day of swims at the Sectional Championships. Coach Adam Schmitt was impressed with the swimmers stepping up in their individual events. The day began with the 200 IM with Alexa and Adam. Alexa dropped 2 seconds to record a best time in the event of 2:13.06. Adam swam a solid 1:56.63 in his individual medley. In the frigid environment, the Piranhas are "overcoming all obstacles to perform at their best'" says coach Adam Schmitt. Saturday, December 17- Huntington Beach - The Piranha swimmers that are competing in the USA Swimming Sectional meet had a great day of swims. The preliminary session had 6 of the 8 swims with best times! In fact, it was 8 best times which would include the first 100 butterfly of the girls 200 butterfly. The Piranha Swim Team is headed to the USA Swimming Southern California/Nevada Gold Sectional meet in Huntington Beach, Ca from December 16-20. This is a 5-day, preliminary/final, short course competition that will pit our very own Piranha swimmers against some of the best swimmers across our region. The Piranha Swim Team is coming off an incredible weekend both in the water as a team, and out of the water as the host. Congratulations to all our Piranha swimmers who competed hard to garner an overall place team finish of 8th out of over 30 teams.
