FRANKLIN COUNTY STINGRAY SWIMMING
The Franklin County Stingray Swimming (FCSS) is a year-round competitive swim team that competes in USA Swimming sanctioned meets. FCSS is a part of the Southeastern LSC, and participates in both Short Course and Long Course seasons.
- Short Course: August - April
- Long Course: Summer Months
We practice daily and usually attend one away meet each month. These away meets take place in nearby cities such as Nashville, Huntsville, and Chattanooga and are typically held on weekends. Although meet attendance is recommended for all swimmers, it is not required. As each swimmer progresses in level (learn more about our Swim Levels) the importance of practice attendance and meet participation increases. On top of that, these competitions are a good way for our coaches to assess the swimmers racing technique and progress.
Who can join?
Any swimmer ages 3 (potty trained) -18 years old - regardless of ability - is welcome to join the Stingrays. Our coaches here in Winchester are all certified USA Swimming coaches. They are lifeguard, concussion, and athlete protection certified, as well as have studied stokes and technique extensively. We would love to have your swimmer join us!
