You must be register with USAS before access to the background screening and Athlete Protection Training course is allowed.

USAS BACKGROUND SCREENING

USA Swimming is committed to the safety of athletes and participants involved in sport. The purpose of the USA Swimming background check program is to protect persons at risk, including, but not limited to, minors and vulnerable adults. Criminal background checking is not intended to serve as a pre-employment screening program. Clubs should carefully check references and prior employers.

USAS ATHLETE PROTECTION TRAINING

The Athlete Protection Training is provided through the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

All new and existing adult members of USA Swimming, including adult athletes, must satisfactorily complete Athlete Protection Training as required by the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

CONCUSSION PROTOCOL TRAINING 
for coaches and officials

This requirement is necessary to avoid personal liability for concussion/head strike incidents, ensuring our insurers will continue to provide liability insurance protection to USA Swimming, coaches, officials and clubs.
