TSM continued to show its strength in the open water during day one of the USA Swimming Open Water National Championships on Castaic Lake, just outside Los Angeles. During today's 10k race, Jordan Wilimovsky finished in 4th place overall and scored a place on the U.S. National Senior Team. As a result, Wilimovsky will also qualify to represent Team USA at either the World University Games in Moscow or the World Championships in Barcelona. TSM's Sean Steele and Hunter Loncar were recently interviewed by the Palisadian-Post about their trip to the Colorado Olympic Training Center. Steele and Loncar, along with Head Coach Dave Kelsheimer and 20 National Group swimmers, traveled to Colorado Springs this past March for 10 days of high altitude, high intensity swim training. In addition to the standard swim training, Coach Kelsheimer was able to coordinate strength conditioning, dryland training, under water camera analysis, velocity testing and discussions on biomechanics and nutrition.   TSM is excited to announce the arrival and introduction of state-of-the-art training equipment this month.   Jimmy started swimming summer league when he was eight years old. He grew up in Charlotte, NC and started swimming year round for Mecklenburg Aquatic Club when he was ten years old. In High School, he lettered all four years and was voted MVP as a junior and senior, as well as team captain his senior year. As a club swimmer Jimmy competed up to the Junior National level. In response to inquiries and concerns about drop-off and pick-up points at SAMO High, I have put together a map highlighting the best places to park and drop-off/pick up swimmers for practices at the High School. Now that school is back in session at Santa Monica Higth School, we received this email from hte Sports Facility Coordinator regarding TSM campus access: "Earlier this week, Samohi Staff and Administration arrived on campus to find TSM Parents parked in the Barnum Lot (entered from Olympic) waiting to pick up their kids.  Pickup and drop-off must take place off campus.  Suggested pickup drop-off points are 7th and Michigan, Civic Center Parking Lot, and Olympic Boulevard on the side of the tennis courts. Happy New Year!! The Holiday season has come to an end and the Santa Monica Swim Stadium has re-opened its gates for 2013. Team Santa Monica is pleased to announce that it has, for the second consecutive year, been designated as a USA Swimming Silver Medal Club for 2013. Teams score points towards this honor based on junior national performances and faster. The 2013 standards were the toughest in the program's history. Gold level performances require a world ranking.
