Another fantastic day at the Trials. Luke Bushman swam his 200 Fly. Swam a good race, was actually up on the lead for a while. Not a great last 50 but still swam a 2:04. John Bushman swims this morning. Somewhere after 11am. Emily McClellen finished 6th in her 100 Breaststroke. She was nice enough to let me take a picture of her medal. Day 2 of Trials is completed. Add Brendan Hansen (100 Breast), Dana Vollmer (100 Fly) & Allison Schmidt (400 Free) to our Olympic Team. These races were contested last night along with the Semi's of Men's 200 Free & 100 Back, and Women's 100 Back & 100 Breast. There is a young lady (Emily McClellen) who will swim in the 100 Breast finals. She is out of J-Hawk Swim Club in Whitewater, and swims for UW-Milwaukee. Fantastic first day of Trials. Ryan Lochte was the first swimmer to officially make our Olympic team. He won the 400 IM. Peter Vanderkay & Elizabeth Beisel also made the team in the 400 Free and 400IM. The Olympic Team is allowed 26 men and 26 women. So until we have multiple winners then the 2nd place swimmers will start being placed on the team. Thus they are only presenting one swimmer so far. Lots of lights, pyrotechnics and special effects. Sunday, my 2nd day has passed. John arrived and we got our first workout in the main competition pool in the late afternoon. I had to attend the coaches meeting yesterday. Day 1 - Arrived Saturday afternoon in Omaha. And it was about 90 degrees here. Took my first visit over to the pool and registered. That means I now have credentials for all access in the facility. Olympic Trials Psych Sheet I have attached the Psych Sheet for the Olympic Trials. Luke Bushman will swim the 200M Butterfly on Wednesday, and John the 200M Breaststroke on Thursday.
