The Mighty Marlins chalked up 8 new Age Group Sectional Qualifying times at the Age Group Invitational at Kamiak High School. Five of our 6 Marlins hit best times in their distance events at the Storm Distance Meet. Elle Lee, Bindi Pedersen, and Skyler Walker had bests in the 1000 free, and Karlie Rimat and Maggie Delane had bests in the 1650! Way to go Marlins!
Welcome to baby Marina Susannah Josephine Jenks! Coach Meredith had her baby! Marina was born on February 2, 2013 at 10:20 pm, weighing 8 lbs. 15 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Congratulations to Meredith, Marc and Madeleine on their sweet new addition to their family!

All 3 of the Marlins at the snowflake invitational scored a top 4 finish in at least 1 event. Madelynn Butler won the 25 fly and was second in the 25 free and breast. Parker Mills scored a third in the 25 fly, and Caitlyn Anderson had 4ths in both the 50 and 100 free!
Splash Magazine annually lists the top 10 swims in the country in each age group. In the January issue the list of best short course times of 2011-2012 includes the Mighty Marlins own Bindi Pedersen. Bindi had the fastest time in the entire United States of America in the 200 butterfly as an 11 year old with a 2:11.98 clocking. Bindi Pedersen took 11th in the 200 fly at the Washington Open Meet (A meet for senior swimmers). However, as the only 12 year old in the final she beat a PNS record that had been held since 1994 by clocking a 2:08.73 in the 200 Butterfly! Our parents starred running the meet, and our newer Marlins starred with their enthusiasm at the January Challenege at our pool Jan. 12th and 13th.
