In the Youth Triathlon the girls from Marlin Town took 1st, 3rd and 4th. Abby Magee led the way, winning in a time of 13:33. Piper Lee was 3rd at 16:16, and Maggie Delaney was 4th also at 16:16. Addison Lee led the young boys with an 8th place finish at 17:29. In the full length triathlon (1/3 mile swim, 14.8 mile bike, 4 mile run) Rachel Hartmeyer won the 15-19 year old division in a time of 1:47:26, with Jewel LeValley close behind for 2nd at 1:52:05. At the Senior Seattle Open, where most swimmers are 15 years old or older, Bindi Pedersen at age 11 managed to place 2nd in the 100 breaststroke and 1500 free, and 3rd in the 200 butterfly. Jeffrey Lozensky, only 13 years old, stepped up to finish 3rd in the 800 free. These young Marlins are swimming times way above their age group norms!
Dylan Schwartzmiller and John Snider led the way winning all 3 of Their events. Mieko Schwartzmiller added 2 victories as did Lawren Rainey and Emma Savidge. luke Pusateri and Kevin English each had 1 win. Other Marlins adding top 6 finishes included: Elena Almazon, Alexis Bennett, Aubrey Bennett, Sadie Collins, Charli English, Nathaniel Ludwig, Daniel Rosenthal, Kaili Swan, Russell Swanson, Anna Veazey, Ben Veazey, and Skyler Walker! Way to go newer Marlins!!
The Marlins had some great team bonding time up in Oak Harbor at this year's Round Robin meet. We cheered for every race and looked fantastic in our pajamas! We also had the opportunity to bond with Thunderbird Aquatic Club for relays and overall team points. Particularly exciting was our two-man relay of Sarp Orgul and Jeffrey Lozensky. Way to go Mighty Thunder Marlin Birds!
Maggie Delaney made 2 more PNS times at the Last Chance for Glory Meet. Also achieving best times were Abby Magee with 5, Melody Coleman, Christina Domanowski, and Sarp Orgul with 3 each, Erin Delaney with 2, and Kara Libra and Bindi Pedersen 1 each. Meanwhile in Omaha: Trevor LeValley who now swims for the University of Wyoming made Olympic Trials in the 400 IM!!
Kaili Swan won gold silver and bronze medals at the Regional and State Special Olympics! Kaili emerged as a backstroker at the meet as well as doing well in the freestyle and butterfly. Way to go Kaili!!
Pizza and Fun was had by all at the Marlin's 10 year anniversary celebration. Karoline Schaufler took us down memory lane with old and new pictures of some of our long time Marlins! Thanks to the LeValley's for all they have done, as they embark on a new adventure!
Several swimmers had breakout meets at Apple Capital. Tanner Desjardins swam 8 long course best times. Nathaniel Ludwig and Emma Savidge scored 7 best times. Elle and Piper Lee had 6 best times each. The 11-12 year old boys all rose to the occasion with any where from 5-7 best times, including: John Snider, Ben Veazey and Burch Walker. Skyler Walker and Kara Libra each had 4 best times. The entire team had a win in the fun department, and the parents did as well!!
