This is a much delayed review of Senior One performances over the last two months. Swimmers of the Month November Cohen Gunalus for coming very close to qualifying for the Junior Nationals. His improvments in 100 and 200 fly to get close to the Junior National qualifying times was very impressive. Gold Medal Swim Club achieved Silver Medal status in the USA Swimming Club Excellence program. This annual program recognizes the top swim clubs in the United States based on a point system. Points are earned by swimmmers on the team that achieve a high level of success based on their long course times from 2022-2023. This is the second year in a row that the team achieved this honor. Four Gold Medal Swim Club swimmers have made their choice where to pursue their swimming careers in college. Congratulations to these swimmers as they pursue their academic and athletic careers. Paige Downey was recently selected for the National Junior Team by USA Swimming. The National Junior Team is the top 18 and under swimmers in the United States who aren't on the Senior National Team. Paige was selected off of her performance in the 1500 free at the Junior Nationals. As a member of the National Junior Team, Paige will get to attend a training camp in Colorado Springs in January and swim in the Junior Pan Pacs next August in Australia.
