Etobicoke- The Belleville Youth Swim Team placed fourth out of thirty-eight teams at Division 3 Provincial Team Championships. Cornwall – The Belleville Youth Swim Team returned from a competition that included multiple teams from Ontario and Quebec. Sixteen athletes participated in the meet that was full of fast racing. HOME MEET REQUIREMENTS It is a big job to host our own meets. We need all families to volunteer in many ways. The benefits for our kids to be able to swim in their own pool and not have to travel and stay at a hotel is worth the work. Swim meets also are a big fundraiser for our team. Belleville - Over 260 swimmers competed at the first ever meet at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and it was a complete success! There were teams from Whitby, Picton, Port Hope, Clarington, Amherstview and two teams from Ottawa. The Belleville Youth Swim Team managed an astonishing 86 percent best times. Amherstview – Thirty athletes from the Belleville Youth Swim Team raced at the annual Ernestown Barracudas Invitational Meet over the weekend. The competition was fierce, but the BYST managed to prevail. The team placed fourth overall behind the host club, Upper Canada Swim Club (Brockville) and just behind the Kingston Blue Marlins. They finished ahead of other clubs, including Swim Ottawa,Perth Stingrays, Queen’s University, Kington Y Penguins and CFB Kingston Sharks.
