PBs and Festival-Qualifying Times for CW at John Grootveld Sr Meet

It was two bright and early mornings for the 12 & Under sessions in Toronto this past weekend!  Our young swimmers posted many best times and had 19 “Top 5” and 49 “Top 10” finishes. We are so happy to report that every single 12 & Under CW swimmer dropped time in at least 1 event - spectacular! Two swimmers were able to swim in the 50 Free Eliminators, coming in 3rd and 4th. Special shout-out to three swimmers with medal positions in their events:

 

Claire Qin: 2nd in 400 Free; 3rd in 100 Back, 200 Back, and 50 Free

Marcus Friesen: 1st in 200 IM

Tyler Howes: 3rd in 50 Back

 

The 13 & Overs had the afternoon session, and started their day battling traffic with Blue Jay's fans to make it to the meet! Our older swimmers had 18 “Top 10” finishes, with shout-outs to two swimmers for medal positions:

 

Sarah Coffin: 3rd in 100 Breast, 200 Fly, 200 Breast

Spencer Pirvu: 3rd in 50 Back

 

Huge congratulations to Sarah Coffin, Kaleb Hunt, Ryan Papke, Claire Qin, Stella Sedra, Spencer Pirvu (who sadly ages up) and Marcus Friesen for qualifying for Swim Ontario’s Summer Festival Championships! They will be joining our other qualifiers: Connor Brown, Charlotte Heinrichs, Owen Inglis, Elayna Zunic and Hayley Muscat!
