Family Participation Program (FPP)

Club Warriors is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization. We rely on member families to support all facets of the club’s activities—from the Board that governs all club operations to parents volunteering at Club events and as Officials at swim meets. Committed member volunteers are an integral part of our culture and the foundation of our success.

The Family Participation Program (FPP) is a comprehensive volunteer program similar to programs run by most other swim clubs in the province. It is designed to encourage parents to take an active role in volunteering with CW. The FPP is based on a point system for Officiating and Volunteering throughout the swimming season.

The program ensures CW has an adequate number of volunteers for various activities throughout the season and, importantly, meets Swim Ontario’s requirements for the number of certified officials necessary to run sanctioned meets.

Running sanctioned meets elevates the Club’s profile and can help offset swimmer training fees, so the time invested in becoming an official has benefits. Most meets we attend also require officials from visiting clubs. We all do our part to keep the sport thriving for our swimmers.

Family Participation Requirements for the 2025–26 Season

Each family with a competitive swimmer(s) registered is expected to participate in volunteer activities. It is the family’s responsibility to ensure they have reached and recorded their minimum points for the season. Requirements are on a per-family basis, regardless of the number of swimmers. In multiple-swimmer families, the point requirement is determined by the highest-level swimmer (e.g., a family with swimmers in Novice 1, AG 2, and Junior Elite must reach 10 points; a family with swimmers in Intro and Intermediate must reach 4 points).

The Family Participation Deposit

CW collects an FPP fee from all competitive swim families at the start of the season. For families joining later in the year, the deposit and point requirement are prorated. The deposit amount is tiered based on the highest-placed swimmer in the family. Final FPP counts occur during the last week of training for your group. The FPP fee will be applied with the first month’s training fees. Once a family completes their FPP requirement, the fee will be reimbursed as soon as possible (may take a few weeks). FPP points are not transferable between families and excess points cannot be carried over.
