Club Warriors Outstanding at the 2022 Summer Ontario Swimming Championships

Website Club Warriors

Waterloo Region was well-represented at the 2022 Summer Ontario Swimming Championships (July 7-10) as eleven talented 14 to 16-year-old swimmers from Club Warriors travelled to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Complex to compete among the best age-group swimmers in the province. CW finished 15th in overall scoring out of over 70 competing clubs – a remarkable accomplishment for our small, young team (and done without the help of relay entries/points!) We are so proud of the amazing team spirit of and individual efforts of our athletes who ALL scored points for CW over this 4-day event.

Here are the daily highlights…

DAY 1

A solid start for CW! After the morning prelims, 6 Warriors claimed spots in 7 final swims. A big congrats also to Jessica and Cameron who delivered strong performances in the 800FR this morning. Cameron took over 23 seconds off his entry time to capture the first medal for CW and qualified for his second event in the upcoming Canadian Junior Championships (CJC). Meanwhile, Jessica nearly matched her already-CJC qualified entry time and placed just outside the podium, coming in 4th.

DAY 2

The second day was nothing short of exciting as 6 Warriors competed in some of the most heart-stomping Finals I’ve seen. A special shout out to Willow and Cameron who brought the crowd to their feet with their come-from-behind, CJC-qualifying, Silver medal performances in the 400 IM. Sadly, Willow will age up but what a fantastic race! Congrats also to Elizabeth whose speedy 100 Fly earned her spot in the upcoming Canadian Junior Championships.
