Owen Sound: First Team Travel Meet a Great Success!

Website Club Warriors

A group of 39 swimmers traveled to Owen Sound this past weekend as a team. For many, it was the first time going to a competition with teammates on a bus and without their parents.

Our chaperones worked hard to make sure everything was ready for swimmers and coaches. From travel, to rooms, to food, all was taken care of with the utmost efficiency.  And always with a smile on their faces and a positive word.  We could not have done it without their support.

The swimmers were hard working and cooperative teammates.  They cheered for each other and helped make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable in this new and exciting situation.  The ladies working at the hotel had wonderful things to say about how well behaved our group was.  Way to go CW!

And at the pool all I can say is WOW!  Times dropped in almost every race.  The list is too long to name everyone who did a best time, so let’s just say EVERYONE did.

Here is a list of Top 10 finishers:

Thinuga, Nicole K., Nataliya, Ryan L, Sami, Ava M, Connor M., Ryan P., Claire Q., Hassan, Hamza, Razan, Nantli, Lucia, Kacper, Rosa, Alex, Desi, Yehia, Marcus, Elijah, Gabriella, Addison Hei., Charlotte and Tyler.  I hope I didn’t miss anyone.

And if that is not enough here is a list of Top 3 finishers:

Hamza with 1 top 3 finish.

Razan (not to be outdone by her brother) with 1 top 3 finish

Yehia with 3

Marcus with 2

Elijah with 1

Addison Hein. with 1

Tyler with 1

Kacper with 1

Thinuga with 1

Connor M with 2 (1 gold 1 silver)

Ryan L. with 1

Claire Q with 3

Lucas with 6 (3 bronze and 3 gold)

Hayley M with 6 (2 silver and 4 gold)

And finally relays.  These were all mixed 2 boys and 2 girls, so they were a lot of fun to race and for the coaches to figure out:)

15 and overs had a 5th and 6th place finish.

Top 13-14 relays finished 6th and 7th.

And our 11 and 12 relays finished 2nd and third.

It was a wonderful weekend.  Thanks again to all who attended.  I am looking forward to when we can do this again!
