Pointe-Claire Team Travel Meet a Success
The Pointe Claire swim meet took place in Quebec from December 9th to 11th, 2022. Our club has been attending this meet for many years so it was great to see it happen again for the first time since 2019.
Pointe Claire is often a highlight of the season because it is a travel meet where swimmers get to go as a group by bus, and compete against teams from other provinces. It is considered a high-level meet with challenging AA and AAA qualifying times.
A huge thank you goes out to Angela Coffin and Corrie Brubacher who travelled with the team for this event. Travel parents not only look out for the swimmers, they are also responsible for all of the food organization - a massive feat for this many people.
The meet is split into two by qualifying times, where AA runs in half the pool and AAA runs in the other. This was a competitive meet and our Warriors finished 7th out of 29 teams.
Our AAA medal winners were:
Evan Hodson (2nd 50 free)
Cameron Morrissey (3rd 400 IM)
Michael Yarusevych (2nd 200 IM, 3rd 200 fly)
Elizabeth Coode (1st 100 fly, 1st 200 fly)
Other AAA swimmers who got 50% or more PBs:

A note from our head coach, Russ
“A Travel Meet like this takes a lot of planning to help make it successful. Thank you, Angela Coffin! Also, to have a successful meet our swimmers must swim fast AND respect all of our little policies and protocols to make a group this size work together and be great ambassadors for the Warriors. For that a huge thank you to all of the swimmers on the trip".
Go Warriors!
