As the new season started for the club, two Piranhas were competing at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Israel for team Canada.

After selection at the World Trials back in April Jordan Greber and Oliver Dawson competed against the best under 18 swimmers in the world. Over the 6 day event both swimmer competed in their favoured individual events and relays to help Canada finish 3rd in the medal table!

Jordan Greber qualified for the semi finals of the 100m Backstroke where she finished 16th and was part of Team Canada’s silver medal-winning team in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay held on the final day of the competition on Saturday.

Oliver Dawson representing Canada for the first time set two new Alberta provincial record in the 50m and 200m breaststroke events on his way to two 13th place finishes and a spot in a evenings semi final. Oliver also competed in two relay events finishing just off the podium in the 4x100m Mixed Medley Relay.

Congratulations to both swimmers!
