The Langley Olympians Swim Club’s National and Provincial Groups participated in the Swimming Canada #RaceAgain Challenge. The Speedo #RaceAgain Challenge is a virtual ranking database open to all registered Swimming Canada club members. This is an opportunity for swimmers to get up on the block and #RaceAgain. Congratulations to Hugh McNeill, Katie Schoreder, Bailey Herbert and Leila Fack for being selected for Swimming Canada Camp Initiatives! Hugh, Katie, and Bailey were selected for the Tokyo to Paris Team Building Activities which includes a talk from Gold Medalist Mark Tewksbury and a Virtual Cooking activity. Katie and Leila were selected for the 2021 Youth Relay camp. Selection were swimmers born in the following years: females - 2005-2008 and males 2004-2007. The Langley Olympians Swim Club’s National, Provincial, and Age Group Performance groups embarked on a Winter version of the Red vs White Effort Swim Challenge. Unfortunately, due to the current situation caused the COVID-19 pandemic, swim teams in BC are unable to race against each other. The National, Provincial, and AGP groups conducted time trials this week for the Swim BC Virtual Divisional and Provincial Meets. Each day, the groups race a handful of events. Here are some updates from Monday and Tuesday (March 8 and 9)'s time trials: Katie Schroeder (15 yrs) broke the 15-17 and Senior/Open 100 SCM Backstroke record by 0.04s with a time of 28.56s. Yesterday, Friday, Feburary 26, swimmers from National, Provincial, and AGP raced in their 3rd Red vs White session for the January to March block. Swimmers continue to clock best times as a testament to the hard work and effort that have placed in their training. Racing for Red vs White has also elevated swimmer's performance!
