2010 Jingle Bell Recap 61 Waves swimmers participated in the 2010 Jingle Bell Splash hosted by the Coeur d’Alene Krocs.  While most of our veteran 13&overs were preparing for another meet, the future of our team had a chance to show off.  We broke 6 relay records with a combined 17 different people.  Our 215 best times, and great racing earned our team 2nd place to the host team who had nearly double our numbers.  Keddy and I were thrilled to watch our kids swim new events and learn a...

Waves Red-Green Recap   We had 100 swimmers participate in the annual Red-Green inter-squad meet.  I’m happy to announce that the Red team squeaked out a win over the Green team.  Next year green team will be back to take back team bragging rights!  11 kids swam in their first meet ever, helping our team earn 145 best times, 4 team records, and one of the best ever attended Waves showdown.  We also gathered dozens of pounds of food, several hats, coats, and other winter attire for the needy.  Thanks...

This year’s Turkey Trot was one of the largest Inland Empire invitationals of all time.  With 505 swimmers at the meet it was crowded, loud, and tons of fun.  Our Waves swimmers were awesome, racing to 335 individual best times, 8 team records, and had several kids qualify for some high level meets.  Congratulations Waves, it was a great weekend, thanks to everyone for braving the winter weather and getting yourselves and families safely to and from the pool.  Here’s a few of the main highlights.  Remember you can check...

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It’s a BIG week, with Turkey Trot this weekend.  Under the Turkey Trot event page, scroll down and you’ll find the Timeline and Psyche Sheet. Due to time constraints, the host team did remove several swimmers from distance events on Friday and Saturday.  Also, several swimmers were accidently over-entered in more than 3 events per day, which was the maximum for this meet. Happy Tuesday!  This week will mostly be a calendar check for the next month or so.  Before we get into that, here's a general update on the team: things are going very, very well!  We have by far the largest group of swimmers we've ever had in Spokane, and Cheney is nearly 50 strong.  On top of that, our award winning coaching staff is six strong and is working hard to help the kids improve.
