Sailfish Swim Team (SAIL) becomes New England Swimming's First Safe Sport Recognized Club We are celebrating our first Safe Sport Recognized Club in New England! The Board of Directors voted last night to allow bids for the 2019 LCM Season to continue until March 1st. Obituary Renowned USA Swimming and high school coach Jeff Johnson passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 15th at the age of 74. Jeff began his Acton-Boxborough coaching career with the Boys' Swim Team in 1977 and became the Girl's Team Head Coach in 2002 . He achieved over 500 dual meet wins and had multiple team state titles. In 1992, Jeff founded the Patriot Swim Club to fill a void in Acton-Boxborough and the surrounding communities. Natalie Mannion (CS) qualified for 2020 Olympic Trials in the 100 Back with a time of 1:02.30! Max Reich (PHX) qualified for 2020 Olympic Trials in the 200 breast with a time of 2:17.47. Mary T. Riddell passed away peacefully at home, December 31, 2018. She was 82 years old. Mary was the office manager, records keeper, top-10 coordinator, newsletter editor, administrative everything, and heart-and-soul of New England Swimming, officially, for 25 years until she retired in 2010. We did not need SWIMS until Mary retired. Though officially retired, she remained involved with numerous aspects of New England Swimming for many years.
