The 2017 New England Zone Team traveled to Richmond, Virginia to compete in the 29th Eastern Zone Long Course Championship held August 9-12th!! This meet has been held since 1988 and New England had never finished higher than 3rd Place until this year! The New England Zone Team won! On Friday At ZONES, Rittivuth Chea (CRIM) broke his own RES 100 Meter Backstroke record with a time of 1:03.98. His previous record was 1:04.07! Marcel Liu (MWYS) set a new 11-12 RES 50 Meter Butterfly record! his time of 28.16 surpassed the record held by both Anthony Minickiello )KYD) and Landon Him (ABF) Congratulations!

At Zones, Rittivuth Chea (CRIM) broke his own 11-12 RES 200 back record with a new time of 2:19.58! his old record was 2:19.88! Congratulations!

Congratulations to the ABF 13-14 Girls 200 Medley relay team of Sonia Mlakar, Ella Smith, Summer Smith and Megan Krameron their new RES Record set at the Futures Meet in Ohio this weekend! Their time of 2:02.44 broke the record of 2:05.56 set by the CS relay of Mannion, Brown Youngman and Whittak in July!

Records Toppled at 11-14s! On Thursday, Andrew Benson (SOLO) set new NE and RES 13-14 100 M Freestyle records with a time of 53.46. The previous records were 53.59 set by River Wright (ABF) in 2015. Congratulations to Matthew Yish (SOLO) on his new NE 15-18 record in the 50 M Freestyle. His time of 23.52 broke the record of 23.67 previously held by Henry Gaissert (BGSC)! Then he broke his record from prelims with a time of 23.18. Matthew also broke his own RES 15-18 100 M Butterfly record with a new time of 54.05! In a time trial at the MIT Qualifier meet, the CS 13-14 Girls 200 LCM Medley Relay of Natalie Mannion, Eliza Brown, Genevieve Youngman and Colleen Whittaker swam a time of 2:05.56 breaking both the NE and RES records. The previous NE record was 2:09.05 set by the LRAC relay of Hierpe, Johanssen, Konter and Peckenham back in 1983!
