It was a great start to the ‘23-’24 competition season at this past weekend’s Condors’ Fall Festival in West Nyack, NY. We had a nice mixed-bag of accomplishments including top places, personal best times, club records, and even a bunch of first-ever swims! As Coach Kevin put it, “(it was an) Impressive start to the season. We are now offering 'Prep' groups for our 13 & Overs, with training opportunities for three days per week instead of the 5-6 days that our more elite swimmers train. Congrats to our own Hannah Wilson as she takes to the national Stage again, this time at USA Swimming’s Futures Championships in Richmond, VA! She began the multi-day meet with a great showing in her first event, earning a spot in Finals! Go get ‘em, Hannah!
Our swimmers had some great swims at this season’s Bring the Heat meet sponsored by the Madison Area YMCA. Swimmers from 16 different teams took to the blocks at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center at Rutgers University for some exciting long-course swimming. Congratulations to Hannah Wilson who was selected to be one of the 56 swimmers to participate in the 2023 Eastern Zone Select Camp sponsored by USA Swimming. The camp ran Thursday 5/18-Sunday 5/21 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Participants were made up of a handful of Age Group champions throughout the Eastern Zones that have top IMX scores. The Eastern Zone Select Camp is one of four Zone Select Camps held each year.
