Orinda Aquatics, USA Swimming The most fitting way to recap the year and to say thank you is to highlight its conclusion - our morning workout on Christmas Eve. Despite frigid temperatures and rain, once again, the lanes were full at Orinda Aquatic's traditional Senior Group Christmas Eve practice. It is powerful to see both the lanes and pool deck crowded with current swimmers joined by collegiate swimmers and alumni stopping by just to reconnect with the coaches and to be part of the team again. This year's practice focused on the intrinsic meaning of giving. Happy Holidays to all.

USA Swimming has recently announced its 2011-12 Scholastic All-America Team. To achieve this recognition, swimmers must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, have met minimum specific time standards in at least one event and have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade. Typically only about 1500 swimmers in the country achieve this recognition. Congratulations to Megan Howard (2nd year), Sven Campbell, Talbot Jacobs and JD Ratchford (2nd Year). It is quite an achievement to gain such tremendous success both in the pool and in the classroom.
