The Central Commission of Ohio Swimming has announced the Fall Officials' Clinic date and location. Anyone who is a swimming official, or interested in becoming an official, should plan to attend. Congrats to our 60 OSSC swimmers who swam to a third-place team finish at the 2013 Junior Olympics (14 & under state championships). We were once again the highest-ranking team from central Ohio, finishing ahead of every team except the Cincinnati Marlins and Northern Kentucky Clippers. The OSSC finished second in the team standings at the Senior Championships (15 & over state championships). The Miami University varsity team and several Ohio State varsity swimmers also scored well, but we finished second to Mason in the club standings. Our boys finished as the top club team (outside of the unattached OSU varsity swimmers), and our girls finished fourth (outside of Miami). Congratulations to all of our Barbara Kay Mini-Championships swimmers! Our boys placed first in the unofficial 8 & under state championships. Our girls placed ninth, and we finished as the state runner up in the combined team standings. Congratulations to the 60 OSSC swimmers who qualified for the 2013 Short Course Junior Olympics (14 & Under State Championships)! We have 48 individual qualifiers and 12 relay-only swimmers (60 total) at JOs this year. Last year we had 40 individuals and 12 relay-only swimmers for 52 total. Much more importantly, we have 228 individual swims and 43 relays, compared to 185 individual swims and 35 relays last year. That is 43 more individual swims and eight more relays than last year! Congrats to all of our OSSC swimmers who competed so well at the 2013 Short Course Regional Championships at The Ohio State University. OSSC swimmers had almost 100% lifetime best swims, and they achieved 103 Junior Olympic (14 & Under State Championship) cuts at the meet. Six teams competed at Regionals. Families of participating swimmers are asked to volunteer (or provide a volunteer) for a minimum of two sessions. Families of non-participating swimmers are welcomed to help if they are able.
