Meet the instructors - 2024 Season

 

Allison McCombie

 

Allison just finished her sophomore year at the University of Arizona studying a B.S. in Nutrition. She has been a member of the Tsunami swim team since she was nine, and has taken on a few different roles since she first began working at FPCC: Lead Swim Coach, Swim Instructor, and Lifeguard for the past five seasons, and she will be taking on one of the Assistant Manager positions this year. She is currently a member of the University of Arizona’s women’s club water polo team and enjoys keeping up with the sport in her free time! Allison is very excited for her sixth season here at FPCC and can’t wait to see everyone on deck! Go Tsunamis!

Adam Lingscheit

Adam is excited to return for his second year as a swim instructor, coach, and lifeguard. Adam enjoys going to school at Santa Clara High and participating in sports such as Track and Field and Cross Country. His hobbies outside of school are painting, playing video games, and listening to music. Adam has been swimming at the pool since he was six years old. Adam can’t wait to return for his second year of teaching lessons!

Alex Caputo

Alex is very thrilled to work his first year as an instructor and second year as a lifeguard at FPCC. He has just completed his first year at the University of San Diego and plans to double major in Finance and Real Estate. Alex was a part of the FPCC Swim team for 5 years. He played competitive water polo year-round from 7th grade through high school. In his free time he enjoys hiking, surfing, and going to the gym. Alex is excited to be instructing this year and looks forward to meeting everyone this season!

Anna Juul

 

Anna is so excited to work her second season at FPCC! She just finished her sophomore year at Archbishop Mitty. Anna has been a part of the FPCC swim team since she was in the third grade, and this is her second season being a swim instructor and lifeguard at the pool! In her free time, Anna loves hanging out with her friends and going to the beach. Anna can’t wait for her second season! Go tsunamis!

Anna McCombie

Anna has been a lifeguard and swim instructor at FPCC for one year now, and has been swimming on the Tsunamis swim team since she was in first grade. She is a current sophomore at Archbishop Mitty high school playing for the swim and water polo teams. In her free time, Anna loves to hang out with her friends and family as well as babysit and dogsit. Anna can't wait to see and meet the new and returning swimmers! Go Tsunamis!

Arwen Hirsch

 

Arwen is delighted to be in her fourth year of teaching lessons at FPCC, taking on the role of Swim Lessons Coordinator this year. This fall she will begin her second year at UC Davis studying linguistics and psychology. When she’s not in/by the pool, she loves to learn languages, stay active and express herself through art forms, such as playing the flugelhorn. After swimming for the Tsunamis for a decade, she can confidently say that swimming is an amazingly fun and important skill to learn. She can’t wait to help all levels of swimmers feel the same way!

Bridget Juul

Bridget can’t wait for another awesome season at FPCC! She is a rising senior at Archbishop Mitty High School. She has been a member of the Santa Clara Swim Club since she was 7 years old, and a member of the Tsunami Swim Team since she was 12 years old. She is also a member of Mitty’s water polo and swim team. In her free time, she loves going on drives to the beach! Bridget is stoked to be back for her third season. Go Tsunamis!

Gabi Soterwood

Gabi can’t wait for her fourth season teaching swim lessons at FPCC! She is going to be attending Cal Poly in the fall, majoring in Marine Biology and minoring in Diving! She was on the Tsunami swim team when she was younger, and has been going to FPCC for as long as she can remember. In her free time she likes to read, go to the beach, and take her dog on walks! She’s so excited to be back at FPCC for another amazing summer! 

Gordon Vernooy

Gordon is excited to be back for another season at FPCC! Gordon is going into his junior year of high school and has been a part of his high school's varsity water polo team for his first two years of high school. He has been a part of FPCC's swim team since he was 6, has been playing club level water polo since he was 10, and has been on an olympic development team since he was 14. In his free time Gordon likes hiking in the Sierra mountains and playing games with friends at the pool. He is thrilled to meet all of the new swimmers for this year! GO TSUNAMIS!!

 

Holly Sidford

Holly is very excited to teach swim lessons again this summer! Holly is about to finish her junior year at Santa Clara High and has 2 years of lifeguarding/teaching experience including one year at FPCC. She has been on swim team from ages 4-13 and has a lot of experience with children. She is creative and loves to do art of many kinds including dancing, makeup, and painting. Holly loves studying biotechnology and history at school. On her free days, Holly likes to hang out with her friends and listen to nostalgic music. Holly looks forward to working with this season's students!

Irene Suprenant

Irene is a sophomore at Archbishop Mitty and swam on the school team freshman year. She has been swimming at FPCC since she was 5 years old and is super excited to work there as an instructor this year! Irene also loves to play volleyball, and has played for her school team for 2 years. Irene is so excited to work and swim at FPCC this year!

Katrina Suprenant

Katrina just graduated Archbishop Mitty High School this year. She has been on the Tsunami swim team since she was six years old and swam for her high school for two seasons. This is her second season working as an instructor, assistant coach, and lifeguard. Another sport that Katrina enjoys competing in is volleyball. When she travels Katrina buys a pin to remind her of all the places she’s been. One of her favorites is the toucan pin she bought in Costa Rica. Katrina is looking forward to an awesome season!

Maddie Schmitt

Maddie is thrilled to be a swim instructor for another great season! She is an incoming senior at Santa Clara High School, loves being in the water, and has been competitively swimming since she was seven. Maddie has been on many teams —including the Tsunamis— and she has loved every team she has swam for. She has worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and assistant swim coach at FPCC. She is very eager to be a part of the Forest Park community once again, and have a great summer helping out in the water and at the pool!

Soren Hirsch

 

Soren is happy to be joining the FPCC swim instructing team! He is an incoming freshman at the University of California, Davis, and has been a swimmer for over a decade. His outside passions include playing music and spending time in nature. Soren can’t wait to assist new swimmers in reaching their goals in aquatics!
