Carib Swim Team was represented at the Forum de la rentree, a sports expo held on Saturday in Marigot. It proved fruitful, as many people expressed interest in our various programs. We are hopeful that we can build more interest in swimming on the French side!

Carib Swim Team, along with partner ProPhysio, was happy to participate in the Health, Sport & Culture Expo at the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex on Saturday, August 27th. The Expo showcased over 80 organizations, and featured many demonstrations, performances, games, and free medical screenings (you will be happy to know that Coach Steve's cholesterol is in normal range). It was a great way to promote our swimming programs to the community. We wish to thank Coach Eline, who did much of the leg work for us, and all of the...

Thanks to the R4CR project, Carib Swim Team swimmers will return to a much renovated facility in September. The R4CR project has been helping out local organizations to recover from Hurricane Irma. They were instrumental last year in helping us replace our failing pool pumps and adding some lighting outside of the facility, and this year we doing much more with their help. R4CR is funded by the Government of the Nederlands via the Sint Maarten Trust Fund. The projects being worked on include a new staircase to the parking...

Matias Piazza of Carib Swim Team participated in the Canadian Junior and Senior Championships over the last week, and represented Sint Maarten and CST quite well. The meet included over 600 swimmers representing over 120 teams from all over Canada. Matias started his meet with 200 fly. Even though he was a bit off his time, he managed to make the B final. He followed up with a best time in a 50 butterfly time trial. His time, 27.34, would have been fifth place in his age group. The best...

Joey traveled to France last week to compete in the 3rd annual French Youth Championships. This meet is a country wide meet for 11-14 year olds from all over France, as well as French territories. Joey was the only qualifier from St. Martin. But he did far more than just qualify! He was a finalist in all six of his events, and won a silver medal in 400 IM. He was also top eight in 200 IM (6th) and 1500 free (7th). Five of his six swims were new personal...

Carib Swim Team finished their 2021/22 season at the Martinique Open Championships. In addition to all of the Martinique teams, who are quite good regionally, teams from Guadeloupe and St. Lucia also attended. The added competition was just what CST needed to finish their season, as the fast swimming pulled our swimmers to some great times! The meet was attended by 13 CST swimmers, many of whom have never competed long course before. It was certainly a learning experience. The meet was ran as a senior meet, meaning that all...

Carib Swim Team is pleased to announce that we have made a deal to expand the parking lot. The additional area adds about 50% more parking. The area has been cleaned up, a fence has been erected, and it is ready to go!

Two CST swimmers, representing Sint Maarten Aquatics, swam very well at the World Championships in Budapest. Taffi Illis swam to two life time bests, in 50 fly (31.25) and 50 free (30.00). Arianna Lont swam a best time in her 400 free (5:19.07), a drop of three seconds. Unfortunately, she fell ill on the day of her scheduled 800 free and was unable to swim. Way to represent girls!
