Kellie Fecarotta signed with Duquesne University early morning on 11/9/11 becoming the first Coyote this year to be signed by a college for the sport of swimming. Please congratulate Kellie next time you see her on the pool deck. We are all very proud of her accomplishments!

Our Coyotes were hard at work this Saturday, trick or treating their way through Coto De Caza for canned goods. After two hours of fun, the Coyotes brought home an astonishing 2,130 pounds of can food for South County Outreach. This is truly an amazing accomplishment and we are all proud of everyone that participated. The Coyote 3 White Group held their 6th annual Regatta Saturday Sept. 24th. In this team building exercise teams build and race boats made only of cardboard and duct tape. This year's winner was the team of Rhys Empey, Jerod Magazine, Connor Anderson, Shayna Vayser and Paige Pratt. Congratulations Team Darth Vader!

Practices Coyote practices will resume on Tuesday, September 6th. Practices will be Monday through Friday with some groups swimming on Saturday (that will be detailed in group emails from the respective coaches). Head Coach Todd Conrad and Coyote team member Morgan King traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this week for the North America Challenge Cup International Swim Meet. The competition included swimmers from Canada, Mexico, Southern California, Pacific, and Pacific Northwest. Coach Todd coached the 17-18 year old boys division, and Morgan competed for Southern California Swimming in the girls 15-16 year old division. Congratulations to Coach Todd and Morgan!

Rickey Wilson finished in 12th place scoring 15 points in the 200 breast. Mark Reese finished 30th in 200 breast as well. This marks the first time in Coyote history that we have scored points at sectionals. GO COYOTES!!!

The weekend theme was Red, White, and TEAL as the Coyotes took Santa Barbara by storm coming home with 3rd place out of more than 25 teams! In addition to lots of fun including a team BBQ at the harbor, the Coyotes were also hard at work in the pool. In a highly competitive field we had 14 individual high point winners come home with beautiful engraved wooden plaques. A highly competitive June Age Group Champs meet ended today with many successful, fast swims for our Coyotes. The younger Coyotes again had an exciting afternoon! Our 200 freestylers started it off with Rhys Empey finishing 15th, Tommy King medaling with 3rd, and Jonathan Cheng and Bailey Wilhelms finishing 11th and 13th respectively. Our 50 breast strokers owned the meet with Tommy (4th), Rhys (16th), Alexa Bird (1st), Tahlia Vayser (10th), Caroline Needell (12th), Emily Vye (14th), and Chris Lu (14th) all scoring some major points for the Coyotes. Day 3 saw the Coyotes crack the top 10 for the first time. Medaling this afternoon were Alexa Bird 2nd in the 200IM, Caroline Needell 7th in the 200 IM and Tommy King 7th in the 200IM and 6th in the 100 free.
