Our Younger Coyotes finished Day 3 with two trips to finals and a 4th place medal for Paige Bernhardt in the 100 fly. Alexa Bird returned for a 15th place finish in the 100 breast. In addition, Tahlia, Jonathan, Tommy, Sarah and Emily all had great swims at prelims this morning. The Coyotes combined for a record 21st place finish out of well over 60 teams with many team records being broken in the process. Congratulations to all of our champions this weekend!
Our 12&under Coyotes continued their successful run at the Younger Junior Olympics in Long Beach. Bailey, Tommy, Rhys, Sarah, Emily, and Caroline swam well and cheered each other on at prelims this morning with typical Coyote pride. Paige ended the day winning the consolation finals of the 50 fly, Alexa placed 14th in the 200 IM, and Jonathan swam an incredible 3 finals winning consols in the 200 free, placing 10th in the 50 back, and taking a 6th place medal in the 200 IM. Our younger Coyotes stood up to strong competition on the first day of the Younger Junior Olympics held at Belmont Olympic Pool in Long Beach. Matt Lynch, Tahlia Vayser, Bailey Wilhelms, Rhys Empey, and Tommy King swam tough in a prelims chock full of the best talent in Southern California and Southern Nevada. Kellie swam season bests in both the 100 Free and 200 Fly while Shannon had a lifetime best in the 200 Back. Brandon moved up several spots in the 100 Free and a lifetime best in the 500 Free. Our Coyote women's team dropped 5 seconds off their entry time with Abigael going a lifetime best as leadoff swimmer in the 400 Free Relay. Our Coto Coyote team finished the Winter Age Group Champs meet this weekend scoring almost 1000 points, a record for any Coyote team at a Champs Meet! Morgan King finished her meet with a 4th place in the 200 breaststroke and a 10th in the 200 freestyle breaking the 2 minute barrier in that event for the first time. Morgan King again brought her "A" game qualifying in both her events today and finishing 8th in the 500 free and 4th in the 200 IM in finals this evening.
