As a previous member of the Brookings Swim Club I was beyond excited when my daughter asked if she could join. Ellanora completed level six of Swim America the summer of 2024 and joined the club the following August. I have loved watching her grow in a sport that was so important to me growing up. When asked Ella says her favorite things about the club are getting to see her friends all week long and playing with them at the hotels. Ella has been able to attend one State meet so far and celebrate her birthday doing her favorite stroke (backstroke). In our free time we enjoy doing anything that keeps us outside; boating, hiking, walking and camping. Outside of swimming some of our favorite sports are hockey and cheer. I am excited to bring my love and knowledge of swimming to the board and continue to work for a better enviroment.

Our son Wesley has been swimming with BSC since Fall 2022.  Wesley is currently in the gold group.  He loves relays and freestyle. Our daughter, Evelyn, joined the swim team in Fall 2024.  We have lived in Brookings since 2015.  Currently, I am the Senior Director of Member and Student Services for the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC).   In our free time, we enjoy camping, hiking, and bike rides.  We love our BSC family and look forward to lots of swim meets!

Our daughter Avery has been swimming with Brookings Swim Club since 2021. Her current favorites are backstroke and relay starts! We made Brookings our home 10 years ago. I work from home as a Senior Accounting Manager for Prairie AquaTech/Houdek here in Brookings and Brent works at Daktronics in the Transportation Factory. When we are not cheering on BSC, we love to spend time outdoors fishing and tubing, visiting family and playing with our dog Scout.

Board Member at Large: Mark Sandager

Our Family has been part of the Brookings Swim Club since 2023. My wife Ellen and I have three children, Hailey (8) Valerie (5) & Brooke (2). Hailey is our only swimmer in BSC, currently in the silver group. Val participates in Swim America Swim lessons. I am originally from Scandia, Minnesota. I swam competitively for 10 years through high school and college. In 2007 moved to Brookings to attend SDSU as an Ag Education Major and swim for the Jackrabbits. I am currently the Director of Development for the College of Ag Food and Environmental Sciences at the SDSU Foundation. In my free time I enjoy weekends at the lake and being outside. I am excited our children have taken an interest in the sport I love.

Our family has been part of the Brookings Swim Club since 2021. My husband, Gavin, and I have three children, Jensen (12), Emerson (9) & Sutton (5). Jensen and Emerson both swim for BSC. Jensen swims with the junior group and Emerson with silver. I am originally from Bettendorf, Iowa and I grew up swimming competitively for 15 years. I moved to Brookings to attend school at SDSU and swim for the Jacks. I am currently the Director of Recreation & Fitness at the SDSU Miller Wellness Center. In my free time I love to cook, read, teach indoor cycling classes, and cheer on the Jacks! I am thrilled my children decided to swim as it’s fun to be on the spectator side of the sport cheering them on!
