Team News for April 25th

General Information:

Practice Calendars can be found  HERE.  You can find your specific schedule by looking under the “Rosters” tab and clicking on your swimmer’s group. The summer practice schedule will be the same as last year and can be found HERE.  We will update everyone on the start date at a later date.

HSA’s Swim for Success Program sponsors the Sea Dragons team at the Richard Showers Pool. The group meets two Saturdays out of the month.  We believe this is a valuable volunteer opportunity for our swimmers who are ages 12 and over to contribute to the community and help others learn to swim.  The Sea Dragons will practice on the Saturdays of May 4th and May 11th from 12:00 to 2:00.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact Coach Felipe Cortes [email protected].

As a reminder, all swimmers are to enter through the meet management room, no unsupervised children in the Aquatics Center, no parents are allowed in the locker rooms, and parents must use the restrooms located on the concourse of the Competition Pool.  Also, please be sure you are not leaving any trash in the stands or on the pool deck.  The lifeguards are doing their best to keep the pool area clean for our team and we need to help them out as much as possible!

Yearly Fundraising Obligation: This $150.00 fee runs annually on June 1st. This fee applies to all JD2, Red1, Red2, Blue, SD, JR, and SR group swimmers.

Yearly Service Hours Requirement: This requirement applies to families with swimmers in White, JD1, JD2, Red1, Red2, Blue, SD, JR, and SR groups. HSA cannot run swim meets without the help of our families. Every family in the groups listed is asked to work 15 hours yearly to help run our meets.  Help with the distribution of mums is also applied to this requirement.  You must meet the annual 15-hour requirement to avoid being charged $25.00 per hour on August 1st.  Mini-meets do not count for service hours as they do not generate revenue for the team. WE WILL BE HOSTING 4 MEETS THIS SUMMER, AND WE WILL NEED VOLUNTEERS.  IF YOU HAVE A SERVICE HOURS BALANCE THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME TO TAKE CARE OF THIS.

*Please be aware that the Service Hours Requirement and the Fundraising Obligation are yearly commitments even if you decide to leave the team early
